What's a 'Lightbox'?

You might well be asking 'what a lightbox gallery?'. If so, here is some info:

  • It's a nice way to display photos, using the work of Lokesh Dhakar
  • Click on a thumbnail. A big version of the photo will open up in a window, leaving the thumbnails showing in the background
  • You can navigate between the photos using your left / right cursor keys, or moving the mouse to the left / right of the photo
  • As you move between photos, the box holding the photo will resize to fix the size of the photo
  • Use the 'Send As Ecard' link at the bottom of the photo to send that photo as an ecard
  • It's quite nice to get a full-screen effect by pressing F11 on your keyboard. Press F11 again to return your browser to normal
  • If you want to stop viewing the images, click the close image in the bottom-right of the photo, press Escape, or click off the image
